What this number is

Among survivors in this study who reported forced pornography production, the average age they entered that form of exploitation was 12.8 — younger than other venues in the same sample. Age of entry is not age of first internet use; it is when they were forced into that market.

Caveats

n=260 domestic minor sex-trafficking survivors. Averages hide range. This is not the average age of everyone in the commercial sex industry, and it is not a claim about consensual adult production.

What the 90% is for

This is why children come first in the 90% allocation. Forced pornography production of minors is CSAM. The work is identification, removal from the situation, and years of care — not a one-night rescue statistic.
