Published figure

2,666

Minors identified in U.S. National Human Trafficking Hotline cases in 2024 — among cases where age was known. This is who reached a hotline, not total prevalence.

What this number is

Polaris publishes who contacted the hotline, or was reported to it, in cases that became identified trafficking situations. 2,666 is minors among those cases where age was known.

Caveats

Polaris is explicit: this describes people who knew to call, or who someone called about. It is not how many people are being trafficked in the United States. Missing age data means the true share of minors in the caseload is incomplete.

What the 90% is for

A pledge cannot be converted into “minors saved.” It can keep a hotline staffed and fund the housing and casework the people who do call actually need. That is a smaller, truer number than a raid statistic.
