Published figure
52% vs 29%
Sex buyers in a Boston comparison study imitated acts they had seen in pornography with partners, versus 29% of men who did not buy sex. Buyers also used more genres of pornography and more often learned about sex from it.
What this number is
In a Boston comparison of men who buy sex and men who do not, buyers were more likely to imitate pornography with partners, used more genres of it, and more often learned about sex from it. The documented link is demand-side behavior, not a claim that watching is the same as trafficking.
Caveats
n=202, one city, one study. Correlation is not “every viewer is a buyer.” It is evidence that the men who pay for sex, in this sample, use pornography differently than the men who do not.
What the 90% is for
This is why Correctional treats the member’s fight with pornography as connected to the market the 90% is fighting — the same demand, different ends. Killing the demand in yourself does not replace funding aftercare. Both are on this page on purpose.
